Nine days ago my Mother-In-Love suffered a devastating cerebral hemorrhage. As I tried to process exactly what that meant and what that was going to look like for her quality of life for the rest of her life God provided for us. Our home fellowship leader and friend showed up at the hospital to pray with us. My husband and I needed just that, in that very moment. Minutes later another friend called who had no idea what was happening and when I told her she gave me the words of encouragement that I needed for that moment.
As the week progressed, we prayed, pleaded and cried through what seemed like a never ending cycle of crying out to God in new ways, remembering that Big Girls DO Cry. As I was talking with God one morning I felt Him impress upon my heart that my Mother-in-Love was in FULL BLOOM. She is almost home with Him and this is the next best season to being safe in His arms. Why was I rushing things? Gods presence was all around. Gods timing is always best.
It is truly living out Psalm 46:10~ Be STILL and know that I am God. I have read that verse lots of times, but embracing it is something totally different. I have been truly blessed to have a Mother-In-Love who loves God with all her heart, loves her family and loves people unconditionally. Whether it was singing songs together like “On the road again, or Jesus loves me” or getting her hair or nails done one thing is for sure, she left a mark on my heart.
