Have you ever felt like you have had a Goliath task in your life, but felt paralyzed and overwhelmed by what was in front of you? I know I have and it is so easy to allow fear to quickly set in and not move forward with what God’s will is for my life.
I am so encouraged and humbled by the prophet Nehemiah. Most of us know Nehemiah as a cup bearer to the king, which to hold this position a person must have been found trustworthy, as Nehemiah would be serving the wine and guarding against poison in the kings cup which meant swallowing some of the wine before serving it. Although this was a very important task, God had placed something more important on Nehemiah’s heart; to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. What made this very special was Nehemiah’s heart was completely aligned with God’s. God had birthed this in Nehemiah at a very young age and he was being obedient with God’s will in his life.
The wall had been neglected for a century and a half and Nehemiah was able to complete it in 52 days….How is this possible?
- Nehemiah was a man of deep-rooted PRAYER.
- Nehemiah trusted God and walked in it.
- Nehemiah never got off track when his enemies tried to sway him-He kept his eyes on God!
- Nehemiah paid no attention to rumors.
What is the rubble in your life? What debris is keeping you from God’s best? I want you to know that God is able and wants you to walk in complete peace and freedom in HIM! Don’t be paralyzed by the size of the task that is in front of you, TRUST God with your task and let HIM guide the way.
