The year was 1967 when the Beatles debuted their song “All You Need is Love” for the first time. The song was a number one hit and the Beatles went on to be one of the greatest Rock Bands of all time. Those four words penetrated the hearts and souls to everyone to this day because everyone has a need to be LOVED. But, do we really show each other unconditional love?
As my husband and I were eating dinner with our GRANDS a few months ago, we were watching an elderly couple share a meal together. He was caring for her. While she ate he rubbed her back, stroked her hair and yes he would sometimes need to feed her. Throughout the meal he told her over and over again how much he loved her, and then at the end of the meal he got up with her in the middle of the restaurant and danced with her. I knew nothing about this couples life, but I knew so much about who they were as people. Their LOVE IN ACTION toward one another was such a beautiful thing to share in with our GRANDS.
I started thinking more about ways to SHOW LOVE. I want to challenge you today to look over this little list I have put together and DIVE IN.
-Go visit kids who are in the hospital
-Help Teachers get the supplies needed for their classroom
-Put a surprise note/sketch in your spouse or kids lunch
-Bring a meal to the neighbors just because
-Take flowers to the nursing home
-Write a letter to a deployed or wounded military through Operation Gratitude
-Ask your check out person at the market how their day is going and give them a SMILE
-Pay for the persons drive thru in back of you and tell the cashier you don’t want them to know it was you
These are just a few to get started…HAVE FUN and ENJOY THE JOURNEY!
I would love to connect with you. Head on over to my website at always-inmyheart.com
