Have you ever had a favorite mug, piece of crystal or an object that you really enjoyed? I remember a time that my kids had gone to one of those pottery painting places and made me a mug with their handprints on it. I enjoyed using this mug because it reminded me of them and how they had taken the time to give me such a wonderful gift. I always took special care with it, never putting it in the dishwasher for fear it would break.
One day, the mug crashed to the floor into what seemed like a million pieces. “How could this have happened?” I said to myself. There were way to many pieces to even attempt to try and glue it together and if I did glue it, how would I know that the glue would hold? So off my mug went into the trash. Have you ever felt that way? Broken, shattered and thrown in the trash. I know I have.
Broken things. Broken relationships. Broken dreams. Broken families and broken lives.
We all have seasons of brokenness. And when I went through one of mine, God spoke to my heart and told me that He wanted to turn what was broken into something beautiful for His Glory. I now understand that the scars of life and jagged edges all have a story to tell. When we get bogged down by rejection, brokenness and expectations not being met, God is waiting to heal and repair us through Him. He is not wondering if the superglue will hold us together.
We all have a story to tell. I pray if you are going through a season of brokenness, you will allow God to heal your broken pieces and jagged edges turning them into something beautiful!
