Have you ever gone to the bank and gotten your receipt from the bank teller and thought “there must be some mistake. I must have more in my account than this.” Truth be told I think everyone has been there at one point or another. Deposits and withdrawals. It’s all part of life and some things can’t be helped. But lets face it, some things can.
About fifteen years ago God really began to work on me as I began to seek Him. He began to reveal to me that I was not making as many deposits in my spiritual walk as I was withdrawals. I was always in need of something of God. I never took the time to invest daily in my relationship with Him. I decided to make a change. I put some safe guards around my routine and made God first and started depositing. I began to see some small changes. One of the first things I noticed was I had peace. Next increased Joy. And the list goes on and on.
As I look back over the past fifteen years it has been a joyous journey because God and I have walked so close together. We are truly knitting a tapestry of love that He began over 2000 years ago. It is a love that I am still trying to comprehend. A love so great that when I think about it, it bring tears to my eyes.
I work at this daily. Do I hit the mark each day? No, but I try, and I love the verse and promise in Lamentations 3:23 New morning, New mercy! That really hits home. Because God knows my heart and He knows yours too.
Be encouraged today and start depositing into your relationship with God. It’s never too late and God is always ready, willing and waiting…are you?
